Privacy policy
Oltier connects customers with local shops. This policy explains what personal data the Oltier apps and website collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account: mobile number (to sign in with a one-time code), your name and language.
- Addresses and location: delivery addresses you save, and your location when you allow it, to show nearby shops and check delivery.
- Orders: what you order, from which shop, amounts, how you paid (cash or UPI to the shop) and the order history.
- Device: app version, device type and a push-notification token.
- Support: problems you report, messages and photos you attach.
- Shop owners and staff: shop details, business details such as PAN and GSTIN, and documents uploaded for verification. We do not store Aadhaar numbers.
Photos you upload are re-saved by our servers without their hidden data (for example camera GPS location).
Why we use it
- To sign you in, show nearby shops and place and deliver your orders.
- To let the shop see what it needs to fulfil your order: your name, phone number while the order is open, and the delivery address.
- To send order updates by notification and, for important events, SMS.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, resolve complaints and keep tax records that the law requires.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
- The shop you order from, only for that order. After the order is finished your phone number is hidden from the shop.
- Service providers who work for us: cloud hosting in India (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai), SMS delivery (MSG91), push notifications (Google Firebase) and maps (Google Maps).
- Authorities, when Indian law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we deactivate it immediately and erase your personal data after 30 days. Order and invoice records are kept without your name, phone or address for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile and addresses in the app, turn off offers and announcements, ask for a copy of your data, withdraw consent and delete your account (see Delete your account). Write to us for anything you can't do in the app.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit; sensitive fields such as PAN are encrypted at rest. Staff access is limited, logged and reviewed.
Children
Oltier is meant for people aged 18 and over.
Grievance officer and contact
For privacy questions or complaints, email support@oltier.com with the subject "Privacy". We reply within 7 days and resolve complaints within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
